Centre for Climate Change Adaptation
The technological and strategic adaptation to the local impacts of climate change in mountain regions is a central challenge of the 21st century. In mountain regions the pressure to adapt is particularly intense.
The K1 Centre alpS Centre for Climate Change Adaptation is dedicated to meet this interdisciplinary challenge. Focusing on mountain regions and occupying the interface between science and economy interdisciplinary research is conducted in the areas GEO, HYDRO and BIO.
All projects within the alpS Centre for Climate Change Adaptation are funded through the COMET programme of the BMVIT (Federal Ministry for Traffic, Innovation and Technology) and the BMWFJ (Federal Ministry for Economy, Family and Youth) and are administrated by the FFG (Austrian Research Promotion Agency).
Further, alpS is co-funded by the Austrian Provinces of the Tyrol and Vorarlberg.
Research projects are characterized by a close, transdisciplinary cooperation between science and company partners.
