Project Information

Climate-Adapted and Sustainable Housing

The aim of the project KliNaWo is the development of a sustainable building concept for the construction of multi-family homes that will guarantee both climate protection and climate change adaptation in an economically acceptable way. Using the reference example of an apartment building with 20 units, several energy levels and design variants were developed, planned, tendered, and comparatively evaluated.

The impact of various architectural designs and different heat-supply systems on energy efficiency and economic performance over a time horizon of 50 years was  determined. Further analyses and impact assessments of additional cost factors, such as site selection, social aspects (e.g., the establishment of common areas and facilities), and the implementation of climate change adaptation measures, were carried out.
