Nora Krebs is a geoscientist. She completed her studies at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel with a focus on petrology and geophysics. During her Master's degree at the University of Potsdam, she specialised in alpine natural hazards and permafrost. After her studies, she gained professional experience in the coordination of international expert groups of snow and permafrost research at the Global Cryosphere Watch of the World Meteorological Organization in Geneva. Since 2022 she is doing her PhD at alpS and the University of Innsbruck on the topic 'mapping snow dynamics over differing climate and vegetation zones using cosmic-ray neutron sensing and laser scanning'.
