Climate adaptation concept for the Oberschwabenklinik in Germany

Healthcare institutions such as hospitals and other social institutions are particularly affected by the increasing impacts of climate change, such as heat or heavy rain. Therefore, addressing adaptation to the consequences of climate change is essential.

In order to proactively adapt to climate change, Oberschwabenklinik is developing a climate change adaptation concept. It is intended to help limit the negative consequences for the clinic locations, staff and patients and to take advantage of opportunities that arise.

Within the framework of a participation process with employees of the Oberschwabenklinik, affected areas are identified and evaluated. At the same time, microclimate analyses are being carried out for the Ravensburg and Wangen sites in order to identify hotspots. The results provide a basis for the development of an action plan that includes concrete measures for adaptation to climate change.
