Climate adaptation for the county of Groß-Gerau in Germany
External support for the work packages ‘Catalogue of Measures’ and ‘Hotspots’ for the concept of climate adaptation and natural climate protection for the district of Groß-Gerau

The district of Groß-Gerau is working with alpS GmbH to establish a sound basis for climate adaptation. A GIS-based hotspot analysis is being used to identify particularly affected areas in the district and systematically record existing or planned measures. Based on this, a catalogue of measures with a focus on nature-based solutions is being developed in a participatory process. The measures are evaluated, prioritised and supplemented in workshops with the administration, relevant stakeholders and NGOs. The results are presented in compact profiles and compiled into a structured catalogue of measures that clearly outlines goals, responsibilities, financing options and sustainability aspects. This provides the district of Groß-Gerau with a practical basis for strategically and sustainably advancing climate adaptation.
All services and work steps are carried out in accordance with the federal funding guideline ‘DAS-A.1 Measures for adaptation to the consequences of climate change’.
