Development of a climate adaptation concept for Saarland-Heilstätten at the Völklingen site

Basis for systematic and integrated adaptation activities at the clinic

Development of a climate adaptation concept for Saarland-Heilstätten at the Völklingen site

SHG-Kliniken Völklingen are increasingly confronted with the effects of climate change and are therefore taking proactive action. An on-site inspection, a survey at department head level and two interactive workshops to involve employees were used to take a differentiated look at the impact and adaptation options for eleven hospital departments and to develop targeted, holistic measures. The climate adaptation concept contains an inventory, an evaluation of the climatic past and future and, in particular, the individualised package of measures. SHG-Kliniken Völklingen is thus creating a sustainable and targeted plan for the implementation of climate adaptation measures.

The project is funded as part of the Climate Adaptation in Social Institutions funding guideline of the German Federal Association for the Future, Environment and Society (Bundesgesellschaft Zukunft, Umwelt und Gesellschaft; ZUG).
