Nature-based adaptation solutions for resilient and integrated urban water management
In the face of climate change, urban environments are under pressure to establish sustainable and resilient water management structures. Nature-based solutions (NBS) are considered to play a key role in this, but the integration of such solutions has so far been hampered by a lack of standardisation, a lack of proven and monitored solutions, and insufficient communication of successful transitions, among other things.
NATURE THRIVES aims to develop and test new multifunctional and desirable nature-based solutions together with relevant local stakeholders, based on existing knowledge and proven approaches to nature-based adaptation measures. A particular focus is on the development of operational concepts for integrated grey and blue-green hybrid solutions.
In order to support relevant actors in the broad-based implementation of effective and innovative nature-based adaptation solutions, strategic recommendations are also developed in collaborative settings and corresponding capacities are built up.
