Climate Adaptation Strategy for the German District Gießen
The District of Gießen and its 17 municipalities are developing the strategic foundations for targeted and effective adaptation to the impacts of climate change.

As part of a funding program by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, climate adaptation concepts are being developed for the District of Gießen and its 17 municipalities in cooperation with our project partner Drees & Sommer.
Based on a comprehensive analysis of climate trends and regional conditions, climate-related risks, challenges, and spatial hotspots are identified. Building on these findings, tailored measures are developed to strengthen the resilience of the district and its municipalities in a sustainable manner.
Local stakeholders are actively involved throughout various phases of the project, from identifying risk areas and assessing vulnerabilities to developing and implementing adaptation measures.
This holistic approach defines concrete courses of action and strengthens the long-term, systematic adaptation of the district and its municipalities to the impacts of climate change.
