Development of Key Components for the Climate Change Adaptation Strategy of the Böblingen District
The Böblingen District is developing key components of a climate adaptation concept as a strategic decision-making framework for the district.

In accordance with the amendment to the Baden-Württemberg Climate Protection and Climate Change Adaptation Act (KlimaG BW) and the corresponding regulation issued by the state government (KKAnK-VO), the first components of a Climate Change Adaptation Strategy for the Böblingen District are being developed in collaboration with our partner Klima Plus. Hence, the Climate Chance Adaptation Strategy from the year 2022 will be updated and focus on building resilience for the Böblingen district.
The components establish the foundation for a strategic planning tool to support climate change adaptation in the district: The initial assessment builds on the extensive preparatory work already available within the district and systematically expands it to create a comprehensive understanding of the current situation. Based on this, the climate impact analysis provides valuable insights into the climate-related effects and challenges affecting the district.
Local decision-makers and stakeholders are actively involved throughout the project, from assessing the current situation to evaluating vulnerabilities and potential impacts.
This holistic approach enables the development of a robust evidence base for the practical and implementation-oriented adaptation of the Böblingen District to the impacts of climate change.
