South Tyrol Sustainability Label
Revision of the South Tyrol tourism sustainability label in line with the European Union’s EmpCo Directive, and the establishment of an expert body to further develop the sustainability label

The three-level South Tyrol Sustainability Label supports regional organizations in implementing and communicating sustainable business practices. Originally developed for tourism destinations, the label has been continuously expanded and now also covers tourism-related businesses as well as small and medium-sized enterprises.
Following the introduction of the EU Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (EmpCo) Directive, adjustments to the certification framework are required. Together with tourism experts, alpS are revising the certification criteria to ensure the label remains relevant, reliable, and practical.
In addition, a cross-sector expert position will be established to assess new certification schemes and market developments and to support the label’s ongoing development.
