Reimund Schwarze is Professor of Environmental Economics at the European University Viadrina, Frankfurt/Oder, and Head of the Climate Change and Extreme Events Research Group at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research in Leipzig. Professor Schwarze is a member of the board of the German Committee for Disaster Reduction (DKKV) and scientific advisor to the UNDRR. He specialises in the fields of economics and disaster risk reduction financing.
