EU Taxonomy

As part of the "Action Plan for Financing Sustainable Growth", which the EU Commission presented in March 2018, the first requirements of the EU Taxonomy Regulation apply from 1th January 2022. The EU Taxonomy is intended to steer financial flows in order to promote a climate-friendly restructuring of the climate-relevant economic sectors. alpS can help you understand the implications of this regulation for your company and how it can be implemented.

The EU Taxonomy Regulation affects all providers of financial market products as well as all companies that are obliged to publish a non-financial statement. It applies to all economic sectors and establishes a set of rules for climate and environmentally friendly activities and investments. For this purpose, six climate and environmental protection targets have been identified:

  1. Climate change
  2. Adaptation to climate change
  3. Sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources
  4. Transition to a circular economy
  5. Avoidance and reduction of environmental pollution
  6. Protection and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems

To meet these climate adaptation challenges, we offer the following services:

  1. We analyse and assess existing and future climate risks in your company
  2. We assess the vulnerability of the different sectors of your company to the impacts of climate change
  3. We establish the link to your sustainability reporting (e.g. according to the GRI standard)
  4. We work with you to develop climate adaptation measures
  5. We moderate workshops and support internal processes
  6. We combine current scientific results with expertise in your company
  7. We help you with education and awareness campaigns
  8. We accompany, document and evaluate processes
