Pathways2Resilience_macht Schule

In the P2R_mS project, children and youth explore the impacts of climate change and work together with schools, communities, and local businesses to develop solutions that strengthen resilience. The project takes as its starting point the already noticeable effects of climate change—such as heat waves, heavy rainfall, decrease in snowcover, and changing landscapes—which are examined through real-world laboratories. Students explore their region, analyze climate risks, collect their own data, and develop future scenarios as well as concrete measures for their schools and communities. In doing so, they combine scientific methods, futures studies, and regional issues with the experiential knowledge of the young people. In three regions within the Innsbruck-Land district, elementary and middle schools collaborate across age groups. This creates practical learning and participation processes in which young people are actively involved in regional climate adaptation and contribute their perspectives to local development efforts.
